What's the story?

It's been a while since 'The King' Jerry Lawler and 'Good Old' Jim Ross did commentary together on WWE television but it seems that the legendary commentary duo will commentate at least one more time, as the pair are set to reunite for the RAW 25th Anniversary show next year, at least according to Jerry Lawler.

In case you didn't know...

The 25th Anniversary of Monday Night Raw is next year and it seems that the WWE is pulling out all of the stops for the huge show. They're holding events at both the Barclays Center, and the Manhattan Centre, Superstars from RAW and SmackDown LIVE will be appearing and several legends from the WWE's past are set to be returning like The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash.

The heart of the matter

During his recent 'Dinner with the King' podcast, Jerry 'The King' Lawler was asked whether or not he'd be donning the headphones at the commentary desk alongside Jim Ross anytime soon and had this to say.

It’s almost 99.9% certain that J.R. and I will be reunited for the 25th Anniversary Raw show on January 22 to do commentary. Probably the show will be broadcast from two different locations – the Barclays Center and the Manhattan Center. That would make sense to me.

We'll have to wait and see if the WWE make it official, but if Jerry Lawler is saying he's 99.9% sure then you've got to imagine it's all but confirmed at this point.

What's next?

We're still waiting for full details of what to expect for the RAW 25th Anniversary shows, however intrigue and interest in the show seems to be at an all-time high with live tickets for both the Manhattan Center and Barclays center selling out incredibly quickly. Whatever happens the WWE Universe is in for a treat and as J.R. would say, we're in for a 'Slobberknocker.'

Author's take

It'll be amazing to see Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler call matches again, even if the two commentary teams on the main shows have actually be pretty decent at the moment with Booker T and Corey Graves doing a decent job.
