What's the story?

This week on SmackDown Live, we witnessed Ruby Riot, Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan from NXT attack SmackDown Live Superstar Naomi backstage, followed by an attack on SmackDown's favourite female babyface, Becky Lynch. speculates that the reason Lynch was attacked was so that she could be written off television for the time being and go film 'The Marine 6'. The Miz and Shawn Michaels too will be part of this massive project.

In case you didn't know...

Following an invasion from Paige, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose on RAW, we saw NXT Superstars Ruby Riot, Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan invade SmackDown Live, on the very next night.

We have no idea whether the two attacks are related or not, but that does not concern us for the time being. Instead, we're talking about Becky Lynch and the attack on her.

Coming to the aid of Naomi, Lynch was destroyed, slammed against a door and then the door was jammed right up against her. It is clear that she was written off the TV, at the point.

The heart of the matter

Becky Lynch will be a part of 'The Marine 6: Close Quarters' and following the attack, she will miss a lot of TV time when she is off filming. The Miz has been a constant in the series of films, and Shawn Michaels will join the cast, as well.

If the rumours are indeed true, it may be a while before we see the Irish "Lass Kicker" again. Looks like Charlotte Flair may have to contend with the contingent on her own.

What's next?

The coming weeks should reveal what course of action, this NXT invasion does take. Some are speculating that it's the precursor to the first ever Women's Royal Rumble. We'll have to wait and gauge if that is true.

Author's take

I believe that the rumours are true! Have fun on the sets, Becky. Maybe this edition of The Marine would be better than the rest, because of her and the Heart Break Kid's involvement.
