Full Match card predictions for the 2018 Royal Rumble

The Royal Rumble
It's time to Rumble

The 2018 Royal Rumble is shaping up to be an interesting show and the WWE are ready to put on a memorable event as they have high expectations to fulfill. The stakes cannot get higher as the WWE Universe is eagerly waiting to find the outcome of each and every match on the card.

So far the Royal Rumble match card looks interesting and the focus will be heavily on the 30 men Royal Rumble match and the first ever Women's Royal Rumble match. The following matches are scheduled to take place in the event so far :

i) The Uso's vs Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin - Smackdown Tag team championships

ii) Seth Rollins & Jason Jordan vs The Bar - Raw Tag Team Championships

iii) US Championship Tournament Finals

iv) Enzo Amore vs Cedric Alexander - Cruiserweight Championship

v) AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn - Handicap match for the WWE Championship

vi) Brock Lesnar vs Braun Strowman vs Kane - Triple Threat match for the Universal title

vii) The Women's Royal Rumble match

viii) The Men's Royal Rumble match

Now let us look into the predictions for each and every match on the card.

#8 The Uso's vs Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin - Smackdown Tag team championships

The Uso's vs Gable & Benjamin
This match could steal the show

It will not be an overstatement if one says that the Uso's are the sole reason for the success of the Smackdown live tag team division. They have succeeded in doing what the previous champions failed to do, and that is to get the fans interested in the program. The Samoan twins have come a long way to be in the place that they are in today and they deserve each and every minute.

Gable & Benjamin, on the other hand, are finding it very hard to establish themselves as a team as they are yet to obtain any success since they were put together by Daniel Bryan. It's very hard to see them as a legitimate threat to the titles as the team has been stale from the day they were put together.

The teams have seemingly switched roles as it is clear that Gable & Benjamin are playing the roles of the heels in this feud and it would be interesting to see where this will take them in the future.

As far as this match is concerned, there is little or no sense in having the Uso's lose the titles as the feud has just started and it is fair enough to have some more drama before Gable & Benjamin win the titles.

Prediction: Uso's wins the match and retain the championships.

#7 Seth Rollins & Jason Jordan vs The Bar - Raw Tag Team Championships

Seth & Jason vs The Bar
There is not much hype about this match

It was really surprising when Seth Rollins & Jason Jordan won the Raw Tag Team Championships from Sheamus & Cesaro at the Christmas day episode of Raw.

The Shield reunion for many reasons did not work too well and the only entertaining part of the program was when Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose became the tag team champions. The reunion was then interrupted due to Roman Reigns' illness which led Kurt Angle and Triple H to fill in the shoes of the Big Dog in his absence. Now its Dean's turn as he got himself injured during a tag team match and is likely to miss 6 months of in-ring action.

This led to the decision to have Seth Rollins to team with Kurt Angle's storyline son, Jason Jordan. But the decision was not well received by the WWE Universe as the fans were expecting better plans to be chalked up for the former WWE Champion.

This match against the Bar is considered nothing more than a gap filler and the result is very predictable.

Prediction: Seth Rollins & Jason Jordan Retain the Tag Team Titles.

#6 US Championship Tournament Finals

Dolph Ziggler
Did we see the last of the show-off?

The United States Championship picture has never been as interesting as now since AJ Styles dropped the title. The WWE creative team have hit the home run with the current US Championship storyline.

WWE had the fans in shock when Dolph Ziggler won the US Championship in a Triple Threat match at the Clash of Champions PPV. No one was expecting the show off to leave the arena with the championship as the WWE Universe was clearly made to think that Bobby Roode was the favorite to win the match.

Ziggler seemingly relinquished the championship after he left the title in the ring and walked away just two days after he won the championship. A tournament was announced to crown a new US Champion at the Royal Rumble.

The finalists for the tournament will likely be Jinder Mahal and Bobby Roode and the big question is that if the WWE will repeat what they did with CM Punk and John Cena. We don't have to wait long to find the answer for that.

Prediction: Bobby Roode wins the tournament and becomes the new US Champion

#5 Enzo Amore vs Cedric Alexander - Cruiserweight Championship

Enzo vs Cedric
How you doing?

This match might very well make it to the kick-off-show as there is nothing interesting going on in this program other than Enzo being the champion and as always running his mouth.

However, it would be quite interesting to see how Enzo would do in this match as he had just recovered from the flu and from being legitimately busted open in last week's Raw. But apart from that, there is no reason to think that Enzo would be dropping the title.

Prediction: Enzo Amore retains the Cruiserweight Championship.

#4 AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn - Handicap match for the WWE Championship

AJ Styles vs Zayn & Owens
Will the Phenomenal one walk out of Philadelphia with the WWE Championship ?

The WWE Championship picture has become interesting as both Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn has an opportunity to walk out of the Royal Rumble with the WWE Championship.

General Manager Daniel Bryan made this match when AJ Styles himself asked to be put in a handicap match against the Canadian duo after suffering defeats at the hands of both men in controversial fashion.

It is very clear that WWE is planning to have Daniel Bryan turn heel and this feud has planted the seeds for a potential heel turn for the General Manager. Bryan had helped Owens & Zayn beat Orton & Nakamura at the Clash of Champions PPV.

AJ Styles, on the other hand, has had a successful run so far as he is ready to go into the grandest stage of them all as the WWE Champion and it is highly likely that he will indeed be holding the WWE Championship.

Prediction: AJ Styles retains the WWE Championship

#3 Brock Lesnar vs Braun Strowman vs Kane - Triple Threat match for the Universal Championship

Triple Threat Match
The match is really beginning to pick up steam

While many of us were expecting Finn Balor to be the one to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship, Vince McMahon thought otherwise and gave us this match in which Brock Lesnar defends his Universal Championship against Braun Strowman and Kane.

This match was thought of as the most underwhelming bout in the card but it started to catch the attention of the fans thanks to the events of last week's Raw where Braun Strowman destroyed both Lesnar and Kane, leading to a point in which Lesnar had to be stretchered out of the arena.

Its moments like this that takes us back to the good old days where such kind of ruthless aggression was seen throughout the WWE programming. Now that the WWE Universe have their eyes fixed on this big match as three larger than life athletes will look to tear each other apart to walk out of the arena as the Universal Champion.

Prediction: Brock Lesnar retains the Universal Championship

#2 The Women's Royal Rumble match

The Women's Royal Rumble
The first ever Women's Royal Rumble match has high expectations from the WWE Universe

It was about time when the WWE announced the first ever Women's Royal Rumble match. The Women's revolution in the WWE has raised the stocks of the female superstars on the roster and the WWE has seemingly moved on from portraying the female wrestlers as just pretty models jumping around the ring.

The rise of NXT gave a new life to Women's wrestling in the WWE and the company has started investing in the female superstars more than ever and it is safe to say that they are starting to reap the benefits.

We have seen the first ever Women's Hell in a Cell match and Money in the Bank Ladder match and it certainly increased the stock of Women's wrestling in the WWE and with the introduction of the first ever Women's royal rumble match, we can expect nothing but big things for the WWE women in the future.

It was reported that the same format as that of the men's match would be followed for the Women's royal rumble match and it has started speculations on which former superstars and debuts we'll be seeing in the match. The WWE roster has a bunch of hungry female superstars who are ready to prove themselves equal to the men in the big stages and it would be interesting to see who will be the winner of this highly anticipated match.

Prediction: It's a 50-50 choice, but I guess Asuka will be the one to win the historic match.

#1 The Men's Royal Rumble match

The Royal Rumble match
Will Cena or Reigns win this year's Royal Rumble match?

When It's pretty much confirmed who will be the one to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at Wrestlemania, the question is what will the person move on to the big match by winning this year's Royal Rumble?

It was the WWE's long-term plan to have Roman Reigns face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at the show of shows. But it is highly unlikely that he will get to the match by winning this year's Royal Rumble match. The best way possible to have him go on to face Lesnar is by having him win the elimination chamber match and become the No. 1 contender for the title.

This leads us to Big match John, Cena is now at par with Ric Flair for the highest reigns as the WWE Champion and it is possible that the WWE would be looking to have Cena break that record and give his 17th WWE Championship. This could be achieved by having him win this year's Royal Rumble match. However, that's not going to be the case as it is being reported that the seeds for the match between John Cena and the Undertaker will be planted at the 25th-anniversary show of Monday Night Raw.

If Reigns or Cena won't be the ones to win this year's Royal Rumble match, it could very well be a Smackdown superstar who will win the 30 men bout this year. The blue brand's roster only has a handful of superstars who could win the rumble and there are two names in the equation as of this writing to win the 30 men bout.

Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura or Baron Corbin will win the 2018 Royal Rumble match.
