In the first list, we analysed first five PPVs of 2018. In this list, we will discuss the next five PPVs of the year 2018.

After Greatest Royal Rumble, we got a number of dual-branded PPVs. Some of them were good with, others being bangers.

It was once again not the best part of the year in terms of booking decisions or creativity. But when it comes to match quality, it was great, with a few Match of the year candidates taking place.

So let us discuss these five PPVs and try to find out their positives and negatives. We will also grade them upon these two aspects.

Do not forget to comment below and give us your views on the following grades.

#1 Backlash

Really disappointing
Really disappointing

When one will talk about the worst PPVs of the year, they will rate Backlash one of them.

Brock Lesnar did not defend his championship at the PPV. AJ Styles and Nakamura faced each other for the third time in a row at the PPV. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss got their rematches at the PPV against Carmella and Nia Jax respectively.

Daniel Bryan faced Big Cass in his first singles match after returning to the squared circle. Miz challenged Rollins for the IC Title and Orton challenged Hardy for the US Title at the card.

Positives

The only positive from this event was the quality of Women's Title matches and IC Title match. These three matches saved the show from being the worst show of the entire year. Styles vs Nakamura III was just decent enough to see.

Negatives

Instead of all these big matches, Roman Reigns vs Samoa Joe was the main event of the show. It was a very disappointing affair. People left the show in between the main event.

The tag match between Strowman/Lashley and Owens/Zayn was a high-profile squash match, and Bryan's returning singles PPV match was a disappointment for the fans as well.

Grade: 4.5/10

#2 Money in the Bank

Booking was the star
Booking was the star

After the disappointment of Greatest Royal Rumble and Backlash, WWE presented fans with one of the best PPVs of the year. Money in the Bank was a great PPV with a few misses here and there.

The card included two MITB matches both for men and women. The last match of Styles vs Nakamura feud formed part of the card. Ronda Rousey challenged Nia Jax for the Raw Women Championship in her debut singles match.

Positives

The quality of two ladder matches was good as the sheer talent involved in them was immense. Rousey vs Jax was better than it has the right to ever be. Styles and Nakamura was not near their Japan match, but was still better than previous ones. Winners of both the ladder matches were fan favourites which gave this event a positive vibe to it.

Negatives

The biggest problem with this card was that Brock Lesnar was once again absent from the card. The Bryan match was a let down which ruined his comeback furthermore. Reigns vs Mahal match just felt out of left field, and the same can be said about the Lashley and Zayn match.

Grade: 7.5/10

#3 Extreme Rules

A solid show
A solid show

After a strong PPV in the form of MITB, WWE gave us another good PPV in Extreme Rules.

But it also had its share of hits and misses. WWE Universal Championship was not part of the card. Styles defended his WWE Championship against Rusev and Jeff Hardy's US Title was on the line against Nakamura. Carmella was against Asuka and Bliss was against Jax for their respective titles.

Lashley vs Reigns, Balor vs Corbin and Owens vs Strowman were other singles matches on the card. Kane and Bryan joined hands with each other against Bludgeon Brothers and Ziggler fought Rollins for the IC Title.

Positives

The PPV had more positives than negatives. The main-event between Ziggler and Rollins was good. Styles and Rusev told a compelling story in their Championship match. Lashley vs Reigns and Balor vs Corbin were good in quality. The tag match between Team Hell No and Bludgeon Brothers was fine.

Negatives

The biggest negative from the PPV was it was non-consequential. Only one title changed hands on the show. Lashley/Reigns match was seen as the no.1 contender match for the Universal Championship but it was all ruined later.

The two Women's Title matches, especially the Smackdown one, were hard to sit through. Strowman throwing Owens off the cage established Strowman as goofy instead of monstrous. Almas and Sanity were relegated to the Pre-Show.

Grade: 7/10

#4 SummerSlam

A great summer
A great summer

For many SummerSlam is the best PPV of the year but it was not without a few problems.

Reigns vs Lesnar for Universal Championship and Styles vs Joe were the headlining matches of the show. Miz vs Bryan formed part of a long card. Strowman kept his MITB on the line against Owens and Finn Balor faced Corbin in a rematch.

Both IC Title and US Title saw rematches from Extreme Rules. Bliss defended her Championship against Rousey whereas Carmella defended against both Lynch and Flair.

Positives

Becky Lynch snaping after her match was a delight to watch. Joe and Styles delivered a great performance for the WWE Championship. Miz and Bryan was a good match with a surprising end.

The match for IC Title was engaging as fans were speculating an Ambrose heel turn at the night. Finn Balor coming out as a Demon added an extra layer to his match against Corbin.

Negatives

The main event was a tad disappointing. Even though seeing Lesnar's reign as a champion being ending was a delight, the manner in which it happened was not good. The US Title match was average, and the Smackdown Tag Team Championship match was interrupted due to injury. Another big problem was that it was a very long show to sit through and watch.

Grade: 8.5/10

#5 Hell in a Cell

It was a hell of a PPV
It was a hell of a PPV

My personal favourite for the year was Hell in a Cell, although my views could be different from yours.

It was a short card with very few misses. Strowman cashed in his MITB Contract against Reigns for the Universal Championship in a HIAC match, and Mick Foley was announced as the special guest referee for this match. In a SummerSlam rematch, Styles faced Joe for the WWE Championship.

Ziggler and McIntyre defended their Tag Team Championship against the team of Rollins and Ambrose. Lynch faced Flair for the Smackdown Women's Championship and Bliss claimed her rematch against Rousey for the Raw one. Hardy faced Orton in a HIAC match.

Miz and Bryan continued their rivalry in form of a mixed tag team match.

Positives

It had far more positives than negatives. The quality of almost all the matches was great. Lynch winning the title was a great moment. Most of the matches were properly booked.

The two HIAC matches were incredible. The mixed tag team match worked well with Miz and Bryan working most of the match.

Negatives

The Main event match between Reigns and Strowman was a great affair until Lesnar returned to end it into a no-contest. This ending left a sour taste for the fans. The two mid-card titles did not find a place on the card. As it was a small card, many performers were unable to get a spot on the card.
