WWE SmackDown has a lot of interesting storylines going on at the moment and things are expected to become even more exciting going forward, with the Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 Premium Live Event a couple of weeks away. Still, there is a tag team who are in search of a new direction on the blue brand. That would be A-Town Down Under, which consists of Grayson Waller and Austin Theory.

The duo lost to The Motor City Machine Guns on SmackDown last Friday, missing the chance to make a bold statement against the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions and secure a future title opportunity.

With that in mind, WWE could consider splitting A-Town Down Under and have both superstars move to singles competition, especially after what Grayson Waller said on why he would not become a babyface in the Stamford-based company.

While speaking on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Waller cited the fact that he does not like WWE fans as the reason for him being a vicious heel.

"The one thing I hate about being a babyface is, I don’t think I’d be honest. I think you have all of these babyfaces that have to pretend they love the fans and I can’t stand the fans," Grayson Waller said. [H/T WrestlingWorldCC]

After losing the WWE Tag Team Championship, there has been some tension between Waller and Theory, so Triple H and Co. could split them up soon.

Grayson Waller explains why he could turn against Austin Theory on WWE SmackDown

Even though they eventually became one of the top tag teams on SmackDown, A-Town Down Under could be on the brink of going their separate ways if they continue to lose matches.

During the same interview with Chris Van Vliet, Grayson Waller explained why he could be the one to turn against Austin Theory and start a feud with him, with the latter turning babyface in the process.

"Austin Theory is a good guy; he's super humble; he's super respectful. It makes me sick sometimes because I'm like, 'I love that you do that, and you want to sign the photos, and you want to be nice to all the kids, and all that type of thing.' But we need to lock in; we got to do whatever it takes to be the best here, and I think that's where we differ in opinion," Grayson Waller said. [47:33 - 47:51]

The upcoming episodes of SmackDown could shed more light on what is next for A-Town Down Under and whether Grayson Waller will turn against Austin Theory before the Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 Premium Live Event.
