Heath Slater reveals that WWE rejected an interesting storyline pitch

Ever since he was partnered with Rhyno and the duo became the inaugural SmackDown Tag Team Champions back in 2016, Heath Slater has been unable to make any kind of impact on WWE TV.

The former Champion has been relegated to the mid-card on WWE TV throughout his career, despite being part of successful factions including The Nexus and 3MB. In recent years, Slater has been the jobber at the same level as Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder, which has meant that he hasn't been afforded much TV time.

Last night on Raw, R-Truth lost the 24/7 Championship to 2019 Nascar Cup Champion Kyle Busch, before he later regained it when the show went off the air to become a 24-time Champion.

The entire storyline surrounding the title has become somewhat repetitive, and Slater recently revealed on his Twitter handle that he had actually pitched an idea for the title but WWE rejected it.

A run with the Championship and a feud with R-Truth could be exactly what both Slater and the title need right now. But the details of the storyline pitch currently remain unknown; all we know is that WWE rejected whatever it was that Slater wanted to be part of.
