Indie News: Jack Swagger added to House Of Hardcore Tour in Australia

Swagger’s going Down Under

What’s the story?

Former World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger has been added to House Of Hardcore’s upcoming Australian tour. The news was announced by the man himself over Twitter, with the move being one of his first major announcements since leaving WWE.

In case you didn’t know...

Swagger revealed on a podcast with Chael Sonnen back in March that he had asked for his release from World Wrestling Entertainment. He was granted the request, with the news officially being announced just a few weeks later. Swagger had a relatively successful career with the company. However, he’d been lingering in the lower mid card for a while prior to leaving.

The heart of the matter

As you can see in the above tweet, Swagger has announced his addition to HOH’s Australian tour. The 35-year-old will be present on June 16th in Brisbane, June 17th in Sydney, June 18th in Perth, June 23rd in Melbourne and June 24th in Adelaide. Tickets are on sale now, and they’re likely to experience a spike following this latest revelation.

What’s next?

Over the next few months, we’ll likely start to get a good idea of how Swagger’s career will go on the independent circuit. Many fans have mixed views when it comes to how much success the former World Champion will have, however signing up to be a part of such an important tour with a company like House Of Hardcore is a pretty solid start.

Author’s take

It’s great to see Jack back on the independents so soon after his release, as he was always an underrated talent within the WWE. There were several occasions where they had the chance to do some pretty great stuff with him, for example back in 2013 when he returned alongside Zeb Colter. However, he was the master of his own downfall at times.
