What’s the story?
On a recent edition of Interactive Wrestling Radio hosted by James Walsh, Johnny Impact aka John Morrison opened up on his Impact Wrestling run thus far.
Johnny praised the Impact Wrestling talent, while also asserting that his main aim is to win the Impact Global title. He added that his Johnny ‘Impact’ ring-name is cheesy but cool, and went on to speak on several other topics such as his movie and upcoming marriage to Taya Valkyrie.
In case you didn’t know…
Johnny Impact is perhaps best known for his time in the WWE where he performed under the name John Morrison, and Lucha Underground where he’s featured as Johnny Mundo.
Johnny Impact spent a considerable amount of time writing, acting, producing and crafting his much-talked-about movie ‘Boone: The Bounty Hunter’, which was released earlier this year.
The heart of the matter
Johnny Impact expounded on his Impact Wrestling run thus far, adding that he’s known most of the current on-air and backstage talent in the company having previously worked with them in WWE and the indies—
Surprised! I don't know what I expected. (*laughs*) Some people have negative opinions of Impact for some reason, (and) I've noticed that before I even went there…They're all super talented and nice and all almost as good as Johnny Impact (and) that is a pretty high compliment coming from me (*laughs*)
Additionally, Johnny Impact also elucidated that if he started over again, he’d probably keep one ring name throughout, but it’s somewhat cool to be named after the franchise (Impact Wrestling in this case). He continued that he loves the fact that Impact Wrestling is putting forth more live events as he likes interacting with the fans at house shows.
Johnny also emphasized that he’s the Ace of Spades in Impact and could be the Wildcard for the promotion despite a few stars such as Eli Drake questioning his signing with Impact.
Furthermore, Johnny explained that his aim is to vie for the biggest title in Impact Wrestling; whilst reiterating his love for his entrance music. Johnny expressed his delight at his upcoming marriage with Taya Valkyrie on June 1st, 2018, besides also thanking fans for the love they’re showing his new movie. Johnny also praised MMA legend Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson for his contribution to the movie.

Johnny Impact is presently one of Impact Wrestling’s top stars and is now looking to dethrone reigning Impact Global Champion Eli Drake.

The 38-year-old is a sports entertainment genius. Here’s hoping he ascends to the top of the Impact food chain, and takes the promotion to greater heights.
