Impact Wrestling (TNA) Rumors: Impact will be taped in Mumbai, India, in the month of June

Will Mahabali Shera finally come home again?

What’s the story?

We previously reported that Impact Wrestling was scheduled to film four episodes in India, on the 30th and 31st of May. Twitter user Jacob Cohen recently put up a scoop, among other Impact Zone spoilers, saying that the company would be taping episodes in June.

In case you didn't know...

Impact Wrestling and India have had quite a relationship in the past, with one of the company’s biggest sources of revenue being their association with Sony SIX. The company was initially supposed to come to India in the end of May, and they posted this Tweet, through the Live Audio Wrestling Twitter Page:

Impact Wrestling was also supposed to carry out a tour in India in 2015, which was unfortunately cancelled. This could be their way to make up for the fans who had been disappointed by the news.

The heart of the matter

Jacob Cohen on Twitter posted several ‘scoops’ from the Impact Zone recently, including the crowning of the brand new GFW Champion, Alberto El Patron. One of his scoops said the following:

While the announcement is not exactly ‘news’, it indicates that the tapings may have been postponed for the time being.

What's next?

With several top stars leaving the company, Impact Wrestling is pulling out all stops to make Slammiversary a success. We will await an official confirmation from the company to see how India figures into their plans.

Author's note

This should be a real treat for fans in India who are often disconnected from the action that takes place halfway across the world from them. The enthusiasm from the fans should be a welcome change for Impact Wrestling too.
