What's the story?

Respected Pro Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer has reported that Impact Wrestling management was really upset with WWE's recent signing of their former superstar, Rockstar Spud.

In case you didn't know...

Rockstar Spud, 34, is best known for his time with Impact Wrestling. He first signed a contract in 2012, after winning the British Boot Camp competition to earn a contract that very same year.

During his five years with Impact Wrestling, Spud achieved numerous milestones including the X-Division Title on two different occasions. In 2015, Spud won both the TNA World Cups, where he teamed up with Jeff Hardy, Crazzy Steve, Davey Richards, Gunner, and Gail Kim.

The British superstar was also part of the team that won the Global Impact Tournament in 2015. However, earlier in the year, it was reported that Spud was released from Impact but, soon it was revealed that the 34-year-old had asked for his release which was granted to him by Impact management.

The heart of the matter

According to Dave Meltzer, it has been revealed that Impact officials were really unhappy with Rockstar Spud's signing with the WWE. He also stated that Impact Wrestling had helped Spud in resolving his visa issues and also the company's management spent a significant amount of money to help Spud in taking care of his visa issues, following which the British superstar decided to quit the company and sign for WWE.

Spud's visa issues are also the main reason why he hasn't been able to compete in the WWE, since signing a contract back in October but now that those issues have been taken care of, the former RPW British Cruiserweight Champion will finally make his debut for Vince McMahon's company and is expected to arrive shortly on 205 Live.

What's next?

Reports suggest that Spud is currently scheduled to make his debut for WWE on next week's episode of Monday Night Raw which takes place in Providence, Rhode Island and also on 205 Live in Newark, New Jersey.

Author's Take

With Hideo Itami also set to arrive on 205 Live, it can be said that the WWE Cruiserweight division is prepared to get a makeover. The two men will surely be a huge addition to the CW roster.
