What's the story?

Emma, who had been a part of the WWE ever since 2012 was recently released by WWE on 29th October 2017.

It was announced earlier that Emma, now going by her real name, Tenille Dashwood, will be making an appearance for an Independent wrestling promotion, AIW, for their February show.

In case you didn't know...

Emma made her debut for WWE in 2012 when she joined NXT amidst huge fan-fare as Emma was an already well-established star on the independent circuit.

She had a great run during her time on NXT and was called-up to the main roster in 2014. Emma had a lacklustre run on the main roster and was sent back to NXT in 2015.

Emma then had a change in her gimmick and continued to impress on NXT before being drafted to the main roster for the second time in 2016.

Unfortunately for Emma, her poor booking on the main roster continued and she failed to make a mark and was soon lost in the shuffle.

She was released in October this year along with a few other Superstars.

The heart of the matter

AIW (Absolute Intense Wrestling) is an independent wrestling promotion based out of Cleveland, Ohio. Their roster includes the likes of Jimmy Jacobs and Colt Cabana.

They announced that Emma will be their special guest for their February event.

What's next?

This is the first announced appearance for Emma since her release. It looks like she will be using her real name from here on now.

Emma is one of the hottest prospects on the independent circuit now and it will only be a matter of time before even more promotions start to sign her.

Author's take

Emma is one of the best female talents in the wrestling industry as of now; it is such a shame that WWE failed to utilise her potential.

I hope that Emma gets the success that she deserves and who knows, we might see her in Impact Wrestling or Women of Honor soon.
