What's the story? There seems to be a lot of bad blood brewing between Daniel Cormier and Cody Rhodes now after the UFC fighter decided to criticise a spot by the Young Bucks during a Ring of Honor match by calling it “pathetic”.Rhodes wasted no time in taking on Cormier and tweeted that most UFC fighters end up asking for a job in the WWE or other promotions. In case you didn't know...Cormier is the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion but he decided to chime in with a rather low comment on an incredible spot featuring the Young Bucks and four other wrestlers.@philbaroni this is actually pathetic. This is what people wanna see? Go to a god dang gymnastics competition. Suplex, bodyslam, piledriver do some old school wrestling man. DDT, I remember when the frankensteiner was the most you’d ever see someone flip. I say Boo to this BS https://t.co/eF4pnCy0SA— Daniel Cormier (@dc_mma) December 17, 2017The heart of the matter‘The American Nightmare’ came to the rescue of his Bullet Club members and stated that the audience actually enjoyed the spot and that Triple H (Hunter) is constantly asked for jobs from MMA fighters. It's not pathetic. The paying audience enjoyed it. UFC is thriving, and pro-wrestling has been going strong since 1920...besides most of y'all ask hunter for a job when the wheels fall off anyway and most are on the comp list at staples...so lay the fuck off. https://t.co/oqKto3a4TK— Cody Rhodes (@CodyRhodes) December 17, 2017That was not enough, a couple of WWE stars, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder shared their support for Cormier as their rivalry with the Young Bucks was brought out into the open, once again.Hey @dc_mma , let me know where to send your The Revival shirt. #FTR— Dash (@DashWilderWWE) December 17, 2017What a great guy @dc_mma is. Has a keen eye for talent in this business. I’m sure he has a future here when he’s ready. https://t.co/NsY5hJFK2n— Scott Dawson (@ScottDawsonWWE) December 17, 2017What's next?Cormier is expected to face Volkan Oezdemir for the UFC Light Heavyweight title and it will be interesting to note if the back and forth continues.Author's takeCormier has a right to share his thoughts about how matches take place in various wrestling promotions but calling the spot “pathetic” is a bit of a low blow.ROH and a number of other promotions do feature a number of high and fast spots that keeps the energy going while some of the other wrestlers might prefer to stay on the ground and use more traditional moves in the ring.Rhodes certainly hit the nail on the head when he suggested that a number of MMA stars would jump into the world of professional wrestling if they had a chance and it would not be breaking news if Cormier does move into the WWE in a couple of years or so.
