What's the story?

Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting on a Combat Zone Wrestling event on Saturday night that will feature Jimmy Jacobs returning to the ring. He will take on Sami Callihan in Sewell, New Jersey.

In case you didn't know...

Jimmy Jacobs was a member of the WWE Creative Team since 2015, but the WWE fired him last month after posing for a picture with the Bullet Club when they "invaded" Monday Night Raw, much like D-Generation X did to WCW 20 years ago.

Jacobs also appeared on camera at Impact Wrestling's Bound For Glory pay-per-view last week interrupting the commentators Josh Mathews and Jeremy Borash. When Borash told Jacobs that he doesn't work here, he replied, "that's what you think."

The heart of the matter

A former member of the WWE Creative Team will take on a former member of NXT when Jacobs and Callihan meet in the ring tonight. Callihan was known as Solomon Crowe in NXT from 2013 to 2014 and has competed in Impact Wrestling and Lucha Underground since.

The main event of tonight's show will have CZW World Heavyweight Champion Shane Strickland (Killshot in Lucha Underground) taking on Joe Gacy in a CZW Rules Match.

Dezmond Xavier and Ethan Page (former Evolve Tag Team Champion with ACH) also have matches on the card.

What's next?

Jimmy Jacobs will appear on upcoming episodes of Impact Wrestling. As Sportskeeda reported previously, he will go by the moniker of "The Princess" and initially become an ally of the Impact Global Champion Eli Drake and Chris Adonis.

Author's take

I'm excited for Jacobs' return to the ring tonight as both he and Callihan are talented and will put on an amazing match. If there is any ring rust on Jacobs, those brutal kicks of Callihan will knock that rust off quickly.
