Indie Wrestling News: Former WWE Tag Team Champions reunite after a decade
What’s the story?
Former 3-time WWE Tag-Team Champions MNM have reunited for the first time after a decade, at an All Pro Wrestling show in California.
In case you didn’t know…
Joey Mercury, Johnny Nitro (GFW’s Johnny Impact) & Melina performed as MNM from 2004-07 in the WWE; with the team bagging the promotion’s Tag Team titles on multiple occasions.
Nitro/Mundo/Impact aka John Hennigan rose to fame under the moniker John Morrison in the WWE, alongside his then-girlfriend—the aforementioned Melina Perez.
The heart of the matter:
Joey Mercury’s most prominent recent run came as part of J&J security; working alongside Seth Rollins. However, following his release from the WWE, Mercury has now returned to the indie professional wrestling circuit; rejoining forces with Johnny Nitro.
Besides, John Hennigan now performs as Johnny Impact for GFW/Impact Wrestling.
Sadly, Melina wasn't there to complete the trio.
MNM seems to be back together, and although it isn’t clear whether the team plans on performing alongside one another full-time, fans can expect more details in the days to come.
It’s great to see the duo in such incredible shape, years after they first started working in the business. In my opinion, MNM was one of the most vibrant in WWE history.
