Darryl Sharma, a Canadian wrestler of Indo-Fijian descent, has been reportedly signed up for a developmental contract by the WWE. Sharma has been part of the pro-wrestling industry for a long time now and has wrestled in a number of different countries over the years.

Popularly known by his ring name, ‘Hornet’, Darryl has been associated with several notable promotions including Ring of Honor and Chikara in the US, Lucha Libre and Asistencia Asesoría y Administración in Mexico, Dragon Gate in Japan and All-Star Wrestling in the UK. Apart from that, he has also appeared in the WWE before as one of former superstar Adam Rose’s ‘Rosebuds’ in the Exotic Express. The 32-year old wrestler has also been to India before and worked as a pro-wrestling coach at the CWE academy run by The Great Khali in the state of Punjab.

Currently, Darryl Sharma is involved in a coaching role at former WWE star Santino Marella’s Battle Arts Academy where he provides MMA training. Outside his wrestling commitments, Sharma is also in the construction business and is the owner of a company named Hornet Construction in Toronto.

‘Hornet’ is quite popular in his hometown of Toronto and won the city’s ‘Athlete of the Week’ award in May last year. He’s a talented singer and can play the guitar, too, and often performs at bars in his city whenever possible.

If the Canadian wrestler has indeed been signed up by the WWE, it will be interesting to see what kind of role he will be given. Considering his experience in coaching young talent, there may be chances of Darryl ‘Hornet’ Sharma working in a similar capacity with world’s most popular wrestling promotion.
