Indy News: Lucha Underground Superstar Jack Evans’ collapse was a work

Good to hear that Jack Evans is alright.

What’s the Story?

Pro Wrestling Sheet initially reported that Lucha Underground Superstar Jack Evans was taken to a hospital after collapsing during a match for Lucha Libre promotion, The Crash, in Tijuana, Mexico.

However, Pro Wrestling Sheet has updated their report and are now claiming that Evans was not injured at the event and that the rumoured “hospitalisation” was nothing more than an injury angle.

In case you didn’t know....

Jack Evans is an independent wrestler who has been working the indies since 2000. He has wrestled in several promotions during the course of his career including Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Ring of Honor, Dragon Gate, Wrestling Society X, and other wrestling organisations.

He began wrestling for AAA in 2008 and eventually went on to compete in Lucha Underground and won the Trios Championships with Johnny Mundo and PJ Black (formerly Justin Gabriel).

The heart of the matter

The match took place Friday night and many fans in attendance claimed that Evans suffered a continuous seizure after taking a move similar to a Muscle Buster. Another fan inquired about Evans’ condition on The Crash’s Facebook Page and The Crash responded with a message which translated to “He is well friend, thank you.”

The report from Pro Wrestling Sheet also claims that not only was Evans not hospitalised, but he walked around after the match as if nothing was wrong.

What’s next?

Evans’ fans can take solace knowing that the professional wrestling world wasn’t hit with another unfortunate injury. Evans has not commented on twitter about the injury angle, but he may have to issue some sort of statement barring any desire to stick to kayfabe.

Author’s Take

In the world of professional wrestling, rumoured injuries with video to match are often debated constantly whether they are works or legit circumstances. Thankfully, Evans is actually fine and no harm has come to him.

However, with recent injuries involving wrestlers like Tyson Kidd and Daniel Bryan, hearing any reports of a bad bump and seizures definitely will cause wrestling fans to worry.
