What's the story?

Top Independent star and former Impact Knockouts Champion Mia Yim has recently revealed on Twitter that she will be sidelined due to injuries and is likely to miss the next few months of in-ring action.

In case you didn't know...

Mia Yim is a former Impact Wrestling superstar and a former 1-time Knockouts Champion. Yim has also worked for WWE earlier this year, during the inaugural Mae Young Classic tournament, where she reached the second round before being eliminated by Shayna Baszler.

Yim has also previously wrestled for promotions such as CZW, BTW and more. The 28-year-old is a former Shine Wrestling Champion and has also held the Shine Wrestling Tag Team Championship alongside former WWE superstar Leva Bates. Yim was also ranked #6 of the top 50 female wrestlers in the PWI Female 50 in 2016.

The heart of the matter

In a recent tweet, Mia Yim stated out that she will be out of action for the next several months as she looks forward to healing from all her recently suffered injuries. Yim has revealed that she will be taking time off until the month of March or April in 2018 but, the former Knockouts Champion has promised that she will return stronger than ever.

Yim's tweet read: “I am taking some time off until March/April due to injury (could be earlier depending on the Docs OK) But I will be back stronger and better than ever!”

It was also noted on Yim's official Instagram that she has been recently using crutches to walk, due to an injured right leg, however, Yim hasn't completely revealed what her actual injury is and has confirmed that it is something that involves her leg.

What's next?

As for Mia Yim, it looks she will now be taking some time off from the squared circle and recover from all her injuries. However, once Yim makes her return in early 2018, we can expect to see her back in the Independent scene, most notably in Shine Wrestling where she has been wrestling on a long-term basis.

Author's take

I hope that Mia Yim recovers from all her injuries as soon as possible and gets back into the wrestling ring once again in 2018. She is definitely one of the most talented women in the current wrestling world and her absence is surely going to affect the Indy scene in a big way.
