What’s the Story?

Former WWE Superstar Emma has several independent bookings lined up for 2018 and will resume wrestling next year in February.

In case you didn’t know...

Emma was released from her WWE contract back in October ending her six-year run with the company. Her last televised match was against Asuka on the Oct. 23 edition of Monday Night Raw.

Eventually, Emma revealed that she would be taking independent bookings in 2018; presumably after her 90-day no-compete clause with WWE expires.

The heart of the matter

Most of Emma's bookings will take place in the United States, particularly New Jersey and Ohio, but she will be wrestling for a German wrestling promotion in late Spring 2018.

Her first match will take place in Rahway, New Jersey for WrestlePro against former Impact Wrestling superstar Angelina Love on Saturday, February 3. In addition to being her first match since leaving WWE, it will presumably be her first main event match as well as a first-time women’s main event for WrestlePro.

Emma’s next appearance will be for What! Wrestling and will feature a meet and greet and a match at the Fête Music Hall? in Providence, Rhode Island on Sunday Feb. 11.

Her next performances will be back to back as she appears at Absolute Intense Wrestling on Friday, February 23 in Cleveland, Ohio and will head to Mays Landing, New Jersey to compete at Stand Alone Wrestling: Liftoff on Saturday, February 24.

Emma’s next appearance will be two months later on Saturday, April 21 when she takes on Britt Baker in Marietta, Ohio.

Her last advertised independent booking will be on May 5 when she travels to Oberhausen, Germany for professional wrestling company wXw Germany.

What’s Next?

Emma’s rumoured asking price of the independents was causing controversy amongst people who thought she was asking for too much, but it appears she has no problem finding work.

Whether her rumoured prices were factual or not remains unknown.

Author’s Take

It’s great to see that Emma has some dates lined up for next year. Hopefully, she knocks it out of the park and shows WWE what they lost by releasing her.
