Infant dies after a man performs WWE finishing moves, WWE issues statement

WWE have time and again warned about the consequences

Scott Hoffman, a 20-year-old male from Jersey Shore, PA, has been arrested in connection with the death of his girlfriend's 18-month-old son, who reportedly succumbed to injuries sustained in a WWE-inspired stunt. PennLive.com reports on the incident and claims that the guy performed wrestling moves on the child, specifically naming The Rock Bottom and The Undertaker's Last Ride.

The man claims he missed the bed while doing The Last Ride and the child hit the floor instead, knocking him out. They rushed the child to a local hospital but it was too late as diagnosis revealed a collapsed lung and possibly a broken neck. The child, unfortunately, passed away later.

The man originally claimed he dropped the baby.

WWE issued the following statement to The Patriot News in response to the story:

"There is no excuse for a 20-year-old grown man to assault an 18-month old child, no matter what. Using a flimsy excuse about emulating a wrestling maneuver does not absolve Brandon Hoffman of this abhorrent crime. The death of Bryson Shoemaker is a tragedy, and WWE offers its condolences to the child's mother, Sierra Shoemaker."
