WWE Rumours: Intercontinental Championship changing hands?

The Miz’s reign may end soon

Last week, after the WWE Draft in the first Live SmackDown, it was cleared that the WWE Championship and the Intercontinental Championship will be in the SmackDown brand for the time being.

In the mean time, RAW brand will contain the United States Championship, Women’s Championship and the Tag team Championship. The title may become exclusive to the other brand if any wrestler from that brand wins that gold.

In this situation, allwrestlingnews.com reports that RAW may get back the Intercontinental Championship very soon.

This Sunday at Battleground pay-per-view, SmackDown’s Miz will collide with RAW’s Darren Young for the Championship. Whether Young will get the gold is yet to be confirmed but WWE’s Clash of Champions event for 25th September lists the current United States Championship Rusev as the Intercontinental Champion.

Charlotte, the New Day, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Sasha Banks, and many other superstars are also advertised for this event.

The Clash of Champions show will be replacing the Night of Champions pay-per-view and this event will be exclusive to the wrestlers of RAW brand.

In this event, hosted by Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, all the Championships in RAW brand will be defended. Bankers Life while promoting this event through their website, mentioned Rusev as the Intercontinental Champion heading into Clash of Champions.

It can be a mistake or pehaps it is a spoiler for an upcoming title change.
