WWE News: Lucha Dragons split up heading into the WWE Draft

Lucha Dragons held the NXT Tag team Championship

The much awaited WWE Draft takes place tomorrow on the Live edition of SmackDown. WWE confirmed earlier that a tag team will be considered as a single draft pick unless the comissioner or general manager of a brand ( RAW or SmackDown) specifies one wrestler of the team.

This may prove fatal for the tag team division as a team can get disbanded due to the draft.

In the past, team have actually split up following the draft but it is now confirmed that The Lucha Dragons will be heading into the Draft as singles competitors, Wrestlinginc.com reports.

WWE uploaded a Live video featuring Sin Cara and Kalisto, a.k.a. Lucha Dragons, where they announced to end their tenure as a tag team.

The two also clarified that there is no heat between them and they will remain ‘brothers’. Kalisto mentioned this split will allow them to display their art on either SmackDown or RAW.

The video has been embedded below :

As a tag team, they often challenged for the WWE tag team Championship and Kalisto also became a two-time United States Champion.
