There's a lot going on in this one hour of action at Lucha Underground, including a Battle Royale, the return of Ivelisse -- who is coming back to take on Catrina but, honestly, I'd tune in just to watch her balance her chequebook -- and a Hair vs Mask match.
Show opening
Ivelisse (*happy sigh*) is talking with Jeremiah Crow... I mean, Crane... and she finds out that Crane is in love with Catrina (*cue dramatic music*)!
Ivelisse informs Crane that she's gonna beat up Catrina and then beat up Crane afterwards! She also kicks Crane in the face so she apparently meant it.
Battle Royale
Now it's time for a battle royale with the winner getting a "unique opportunity". What is that opportunity? No idea, but it's gonna be unique... probably. So, who's in this?
ROBOT ROLL CALL: Joey Ryan, P.J. Black, Ricky Mundo, Vinnie Massaro, Mascarita Sagrada, Argenis, Saltador, Paul London, Mala Suerte, Cortez Castro, Son of Madness, The Mack, Pimpinela Escarlata.
So, after the usual battle royale shenanigans, the final three are P. J. Black, The Mack, and Ricky Mundo (really, Lucha Underground? You couldn't find anyone else to fit that "-ack" rhyme scheme? Whatever). The Mack eliminates both Black and Mundo to win.
Result: The Mack
So, what does The Mack win? A shot at the Trios Championship against Vibora, Pindar, and Drago! However, it turns out that Dario Cueto is picking Mack's partners, and they just so happen to be Killshot and Dante Fox!
Ivelisse vs Catrina
Catrina comes to the ring, and there seems to be a box hidden underneath the bottom turnbuckle. However, when Ivelisse heads down, IT'S WAR. Ivelisse spears Catrina and eventually the fight ends up in Dario Cueto's office. Bottles are smashed over heads; the two pull each other's hair.
Catrina kisses Ivelisse and as the two eventually make their way back to the ring, Catrina opens the box and produces a stone that apparently has magic wrestling powers. Ivelisse gets the stone away from her and following a DDT, wins the match!
Result: Ivelisse
Afterwards, Crane comes to the ring and attacks Ivelisse's ankle with a hammer while Catrina makes off with the stone.
Hair vs Mask: Fenix vs Marty "The Moth" Martinez
This doesn't end well for Marty. "The Moth" comes to the ring with his sister, Mariposa, in tow. However, an accidental bump on the outside of the ring infuriated Mariposa who stormed to the back.
After some back and forth, Marty has the upper hand and goes to get his scissors to either cut Fenix's mask off or murder him, one or the other (it's Lucha Underground, that could happen). Melissa jumped onto the ring apron, and told Marty that she loves him and they should run away together.
She slaps him, hits him in the family jewels and Fenix hits him with a splash and covers him for the win. Marty tries to escape and sees Mariposa waiting by the top of the stairs, seemingly there to help him escape. She hits him with a chair, handcuffs him and lets Melissa cut his hair off. The former WWE talent will sadly sport a scalp-less look!
