Lucha Underground is heating up and a lot is at stake. New paths were carved toward immortality and The Temple was full of excited fans ready to see some of their favourite stars from Lucha Undergound do battle.

The company is building toward their historic 100th episode and the future is still uncertain about how Lucha Underground will handle the impending departure of Prince Puma. After all, Puma (most might know him as Ricochet) let his Lucha Underground contract expire but he can't appear for another promotion on television until season three airs in its entirety.

Ultima Lucha Tres is also on the horizon and a big match would be booked for that show by the end of the night.

Drago (with Kobra Moon) defeated The Mack

The Mack and Drago fought hard to win the ancient Aztec medallion. They pulled out all the stops and entertained the crowd with their superior ability to hold down a match.

But in the end, Kobra Moon caused a distraction and assisted Drago in claiming the win over The Mack. It was a close contest until that point, but The Mack's abilities ended up being no match to the outside help from Moon.

After the contest was over, The Mack did get some sort of retribution. After kicking him in the stomach, he hit a stunner on Drago. The Reptile Tribe then ran down and beat up The Mack for his troubles.

Cortez Castro defeated Joey Ryan (5-0 Street Fight)

This was certainly an interesting gimmick match. We've seen some encounters where people take it to the extreme and get plenty dangerous before. So why not use actual police weaponry to up the stakes?

Police surrounded the ring and didn't allow either competitor to leave. This match was for a prize as well, in the form of an Aztec medallion. Even though Cortez never tried to leave the ring, Joey did once but was unsuccessful.

Nightsticks, riot shields, baseball bats, and a sledgehammer were used during this crazy match. At one point Cortez poured hot coffee down Joey Ryan's tights and shocked him in the crotch with a taser.

In the end, Cortez sprayed Joey Ryan in the face with pepper spray and slammed him into a pile of police shields in a rather brutal display. All Castro needed to do at that point was make the pinfall to claim the win.

Matanza Cueto (with Dario Cueto) defeated The Rabbit Tribe (Paul London, Saltador and Mala Suerte)

This match was serious and funny at the same time, but it seemed to work out for this encounter.

The Tribe got a lot of offence in as well during this contest which would have been expected because they had the numbers advantage. But Matanza Cueto is a monster and ended up taking the punishment in his stride.

In the end, The Rabbit Tribe employed some confetti eggs for a distraction. But it wasn't enough to get the upper-hand on Cueto. The Tribe members got manhandled around the ring and Matanza Cueto hit the Wrath Of The Gods on Saltador for the win.

Prince Puma took to the ring for a promo. He announced his tag team partners for the atomicos match. But Johnny Mundo interrupted him and went down to the ring for a confrontation.

Johnny Mundo manipulated Prince Puma by putting his mask on the line to get a shot at the title. Prince Puma was very sure in himself to beat Mundo so he agreed to put up his mask.

But Dario Cueto emerged from his office and said this stipulation couldn't be put into effect. Since there was already a mask match booked for Ultima Lucha Tres he didn't want to duplicate the gimmick match. He said he didn't want fans to think they couldn't come up with different ideas.

So instead of putting his mask on the line, Cueto suggested Prince Puma put his career on the line instead. This stipulation was accepted which could suggest the end of the line for Prince Puma. But fans will have to wait until Ultima Lucha Tres to see how it will all play out.
