With the WWE set to hold the next NXT Takeover Live special on February 11th, the main event is now confirmed to be Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens for the NXT Championship. Also on the line would be the rematch between Sasha Banks and Charlotte for the NXT Womens’ championship.
The biggest news to come out of the NXT TV taping is the crowning of Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy as the new Tag Team Champions, after they beat the Lucha Dragons. A rematch could be expected to happen at the Takeover.
A tournament to crown a new #1 contender to the NXT Championship has also been announced. Adrian Neville, Finn Balor, Curtis Axel, Tyson Kidd, Hideo Itami, Tyler Breeze, Baron Corbin and Bull Dempsey would be participating in it. The preliminary matches will play outhappen over the next three weeks, and the expected final of the tournament – a match between Adrian Neville and Finn Balor – will happen at NXT Takeover.
