According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, former World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry has injured himself during the match against Big E on Raw. Henry tweeted that he hurt his rib and revealed that he is alright.
Mark Henry’s botched ‘Big ending’ was one of the highlights on Raw, but it was revealed that Henry indeed suffered a legitimate injury prior to the botched finish. Though the extent of his injury is still unknown, Henry was clutching his midsection following the bout and was assisted by trainers during the commercial break.
The finish of the match was an alert to everyone watching that something was wrong. Big E pushed Henry into the corner, and when the World’s Strongest Man came out, the New Day member lifted him up onto his shoulder and tried to deliver his “Big Ending” finisher to Henry.
Big E held the World’s strongest man on his shoulders for a few seconds, then dropped him to the mat and pinned him as Henry was in visible pain after the three count. His message on twitter would have been a welcome news for the WWE as they are missing several top stars out due to various injury problems.
