The Empress of Tomorrow's last match was at 2024 Backlash, which took place in May. She and Kairi Sane lost the Women's Tag Team Championship to Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill at the event. She was sidelined for over a year due to an injury.

It was announced on WWE RAW last week that the Japanese star would make her return in the Queen of the Ring tournament. She shared the ring with Stephanie Vaquer, Ivy Nile, and Raquel Rodriguez. During the match, Big Mami Cool hit The Dark Angel with the Tejana Bomb and was about to win when Rhea Ripley interfered, costing her the match.

Asuka hit Raquel with her new finisher called The Empress Impact and pinned her to win the match. She was then interviewed by Cathy Kelley in the ring after the bout.

Roman Reigns leaving WWE soon? Here's all we know!

"The fire didn't die, it's still alive! I'll be the Queen of the Ring!" she said.

She then sent a message to the women's locker room by stating:

"No one is ready for Asuka!"
