WWE News: More backstage news on WWE putting the title back on Charlotte

The Queen’s spectacular Hell In A Cell entrance

Many expected Sasha Banks to walk out of Hell In A Cell victorious, and still the Raw Women’s Champion. However, for the second time, Sasha Banks reign as Women’s Champion ended at 27 days. Unlike Summerslam, Sasha did not face an injury, so their decision to pull the title from her was not that.

There were a few reasons given for why the title was taken off Sasha so quickly again. The latest reason, according to Cage Side Seats, is that WWE looked at Sasha’s next prospective opponents after Hell In A Cell, and her next feuds would likely have been either Dana Brooke or Nia Jax.

That did not interest WWE officials, and instead, they saw more potential in a Charlotte vs Bayley feud that is expected to begin after Survivor Series. There are reports that WWE are still pushing for a Sasha Banks vs Bayley match at Wrestlemania 33, and want to save it for Orlando due to their NXT ties and history.

The first reason, therefore, stated as to why they pulled the title from Sasha was because of the aforementioned upcoming Charlotte vs Bayley feud.

The second reason was that Charlotte is still undefeated in Pay-Per-View title matches, and they plan to play off this streak and continue it until perhaps Wrestlemania, where there can be a bigger payoff.

It will be interesting to see who WWE decide to pull the trigger on to elevate by defeating Charlotte’s PPV streak.

Charlotte actually holds only one defeat in 16 straight PPV appearances, with the one defeat being against Bayley and Sasha Banks in a Tag Team match at Battleground. While it may taint her perfect streak, she still is undefeated in Pay-Per-View matches, 14-0 according to WWE.

We can expect an interesting feud between Bayley and Charlotte, which will likely lead to a match at Roadblock: End of the line. Bayley already holds a victory over the Raw Women’s Champion back from early September, which instantly put her in the title picture.

A Charlotte vs Bayley feud was expected for the lead up to Clash of Champions, but Sasha Banks had returned quicker than anticipated, leading to a Triple Threat match between her, Bayley, and Charlotte at Clash Of Champions, which Charlotte won, before losing her championship to Sasha Banks after a week, on an episode of Raw.
