WWE News: Bayley says she misses NXT

Bayley was one of the four horsewomen of NXT

Bayley was one of the most prominent parts of NXT growth. She started off in early 2013 and wove her way into one of the prime spots on the female roster. She is one-fourth of WWE’s “Four Horsewomen”, including Sasha Banks, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch.

She was left behind last year when her fellow horsewomen were all called up to the main roster. They needed a top face for the female division, and it was just the perfect time to pull the trigger on Bayley, and she and Sasha had what is still considered the greatest women’s match in WWE history in the first edition of NXT Takeover: Brooklyn.

Since then, she enjoyed a successful 223-day reign as NXT Women’s Champion being the face of the female division. Even after she was dethroned by Asuka in NXT Takeover: Dallas, she stuck around in NXT for the next four months and finally made her long overdue main roster debut on the night after Summerslam this year.

It has been two months since The Hugger has joined the main roster, and she has been in a good spot since joining. She is currently feuding with Dana Brooke.

In an interview with WWE, when Bayley was asked about her NXT journey and what she missed about it, she said:

“I miss everything. It’s just bittersweet. I’m really happy to be with WWE but it was a family back there. The family that I grew up with.”

She explained the sense of togetherness:

“It has a different feel to the crowd. We all grew together and we all built NXT together. It wasn’t just the fans or it wasn’t just the roster. It was all of us putting together, their giving their heart and soul when cheering and we were giving our heart and soul when we were performing in the ring.”

She concluded by saying how it all translated onto the screen:

So this together made magic and it displayed on TV so that people at home could feel that. I just miss everything. NXT is so special.

Bayley stated after her main roster call up that when she saw Sasha Banks, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch put on what many considered to be the show-stealer at Wrestlemania 32, she knew that it was time for her NXT journey to come to an end. Now, she is finally on the main roster, and on the next big chapter to greatness.
