WWE/TNA News: Billy Corgan demands information on WWE offer in TNA lawsuit

TNA President Billy Corgan had filed a lawsuit against TNA itself!

Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet has revealed that they got access to a good deal of information in the lawsuit document Billy Corgan filed against TNA. The report stated that the biggest problem he had was the fact that TNA even entertained a buyout offer from WWE.

Apparently, the document goes on to state that Corgan wants TNA to admit that they have defaulted on the loan they were supposed to pay him back four months ago. Having them admit it would give Corgan even more control over the company.

It was also stated that this would involve him firing the upper-level officials of TNA and hiring his own people instead. He had reportedly even informed TNA Chairman Dixie Carter about the default on the loan around the time leading up to the Bound For Glory special.

PWInsider stated that Corgan wants TNA to admit that they cannot pay off their debts. However, the company has refuted this claim. Corgan is now requesting the court to make them prove their assertions.

Corgan has demanded that TNA handed over “all documents sent or received from WWE or any of its representatives from January 1, 2016, to present.” This basically includes any form of documentation regarding TNA’s negotiations with WWE regarding a potential sale/acquisition of their assets.

The Pro Wrestling Sheet report further stated that Corgan wanted to know the location of TNA’s tape library. This is key as there have been rumours going around that while Corgan would be purchasing the company, WWE would be buying their tape library for the Network.

Even if WWE were to buy TNA, they would certainly not keep the company running. They would be interested in the tape library and acquiring a handful of talent contracts.

However, Corgan seems to be committed to taking TNA forward. But in order for that to happen, there needs to not be so much ambiguity over the situation. It appears that several things are being hidden even from him, and as Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated, it is for Dixie Carter to “save face”.

There are reportedly great tensions between Dixie Carter and Corgan who don’t seem to like each other one bit.

While we don’t know TNA’s full point of view due to them not being public about it, it is hard not to empathise with Corgan who is doing all in his power to take TNA into a new direction, even if that means rebranding it.
