RAW and SmackDown General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis made a massive announcement on WWE's behalf. The announcement came along with huge SummerSlam 2025 implications.
Joe Tessitore revealed on SmackDown that WWE's two General Managers, Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis, were set to make a blockbuster announcement. They made it quick and simple, revealing that the King and Queen of the Ring tournament will be making its comeback.
The tournament will see the first-round matches on each respective brand before becoming co-branded from the semi-finals onwards. It will culminate at Night of Champions in Riyadh, with the winners getting World Title shots at SummerSlam 2025.
This is just like last year, where Gunther and Nia Jax became King & Queen of the Ring and earned World Title shots. Both of them became Champions at SummerSlam 2025.
In a backstage segment following this, Jade Cargill insinuated that she was the first one to enter the tournament, and Charlotte Flair confronted her with a bit of a warning. It looks like Cargill and Flair are the first two names in the tournament.
It's going to be interesting to see how things play out, as the tournment is set to start imminently.
