Former WWE Superstar Carlito recently bid farewell to the Stamford-based promotion. The veteran recently made an interesting revelation about his run as a member of The Judgment Day.
The 46-year-old joined the stable at WWE SummerSlam 2024 and was part of some of the most hilarious backstage moments on Monday Night RAW. The veteran made a special place for himself with his humorous quips and reactions.
Speaking on a recent edition of the Busted Open podcast, Carlito claimed he was the one behind the hilarious moments. Addressing fans criticizing WWE for making his character unserious, the veteran noted it was all his idea.
"I orchestrated that. That was, you know, I mean. I did. That's why the people, like, some people complain, 'Oh, they got him as an idiot or whatever,' and those were all my ideas. Because I was, like, 'I took literally...[when they have] nothing for you, and I made somebody.' You know what I mean?" Carlito said. [From 0:24 to 0:39]
R-Truth wanted to 'kill' former WWE writer. More details HERE
The former member of The Judgment Day pointed out that he got a lot of creative freedom from the writers for the backstage segments. He further explained how it all worked.
"So what I did was like, okay, let's see, I'm in The Judgment Day, the hottest group here. How can I stay in this group? And then I thought, 'Boom, this is what it's missing.' And then it's kind of like, so all those little lines and things I would find a way. They would come to me, the writers, and the writers are great. They gave me a bunch of freedom. They will come to me, 'So we have this backstage. We don't really have anything for you here, but we kind of, we hope you kind of like Carlito-fy,' is what they would say. I kind of just take the script, and 'I can wait. I can do some here, because I find where I could kind of do something.' And that's kind of how it just, it took off from there. And then every week it was great. They just hand me the thing, and like, you know, 'Do what you do with it.' I'll do, you know, and they gave me total freedom to do whatever I kind of wanted," he added. [From 0:53 onwards]
