WWE star Cody Rhodes recently spoke about the company's booming business. Cody is the current Undisputed WWE Champion.
WWE has been making record numbers over the last couple of years. This recent boom has seen the company make record sales of tickets and merchandise for its premier shows. The promotion has also held several successful shows globally, with every event surpassing the last one in popularity and fanfare.
This week on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Rhodes claimed that WWE was in an unprecedented time when they were doing record business. He detailed that the current era should be renamed as the "Record Era." The star mentioned that the likes of Triple H, Nick Khan, and The Rock were at the helm and driving business decisions.
"We're in this period of time where there was the Attitude Era, there was the Ruthless Aggression Era, and now we don't even know what to call this era of WWE. I feel like we should call it the Record Era. We're just breaking records left and right. The new management team, Triple H, Nick Khan, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. They made it so easy for me. I've been dubbed the quarterback. They call the plays, I just run the play, and hopefully, we all look good. It's a blessed time. Thank all of you so much." [From 0:26 - 1:04]
Cody Rhodes will compete at Saturday Night's Main Event
Over the last few months, Cody Rhodes' friendship with Kevin Owens has deteriorated. Differences between the two stars started when The American Nightmare decided to team up with Roman Reigns.
Owens brutally attacked Cody Rhodes after Bad Blood, and the two stars have been at odds ever since. This past week on SmackDown, KO tore into Rhodes during a promo segment. He claimed that the champ was to blame for everything that had gone wrong.
The Undisputed WWE Champion is determined to teach his former friend a lesson as they collide next on Saturday Night's Main Event.
