May has not been a good month for wrestling as far as injuries are concerned. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were forced to vacate the Women's Tag team Championship last week thanks to Morgan's injury. Now, at the NJPW Resurgence event, it's turned out that Mark Davis is injured.

Aussie Open defeated The Motor City Machine Guns and the team of Kazuchika Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi to become the STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions on April 15.

They also won the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship by defeating Bishamon on April 8. In less than two months, they are having to give up both titles.

Kyle Fletcher came out during the wrestling event and announced that as a result of Mark Davis' injury, they would be unable to defend both the IWGP and STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championships for some time. As a result of the injury and not being able to defend them, Fletcher announced they were relinquishing the titles.

They were originally going to defend the IWGP Tag Team Titles at the NJPW Dominion event on June 4, 2023, in a three-way tag team match. Instead, Bishamon and House of Torture are expected to compete for the championship. NJPW announced the STRONG Tag Team Titles' future would be decided at the event as well.
