WWE Superstar Dominik Mysterio has opened up about the possibility of facing his father and WWE legend Rey Mysterio.

Rey Mysterio has formed a formidable tag team with his son and operates on the RAW brand. In 2021, the two stars became the first father-son duo in history to hold the WWE tag team championships. The pair are currently involved in a feud with The Miz and his newfound partner Logan Paul.

Dominik Mysterio, who made his in-ring debut almost two years ago at SummerSlam, was a recent guest on Die Woche with Sebastian Hackl. The young star said that he does not see a match against his father happening ever. He also detailed the amazing bond the two share:

"Before I started wrestling and like, even my first match I would say, ‘Yeah, you know, why not wrestle against my dad?’ But, after everything we’ve been through now and seeing our relationship, how it’s grown and just, you know, we — it’s just different now. We’re on the road together, I drive for hours after the shows so it’s like that bond that we have has only gotten stronger and I just don’t see that ever happening. I see him riding off into the sunset like a happy dude," said Dominik. (27:52)

Rey Mysterio reveals his future goals in WWE

Rey Mysterio has opened up about his future goals in WWE.

The Master of the 619 started wrestling in 1989, when he was just 14 years old. Since then, he's had a legendary career and has cemented his legacy as one of the greatest high-fliers of all time. Now at 47, many are wondering whether he'll hang up his boots soon.

During a recent interview with Complex, Mysterio explained that he is very much satisfied with his career as he feels WWE gave him the opportunity to share his culture with the world:

"I’ve been very happy with the career that I’ve had, and it came with so many luxuries, so many blessings, so many friends, so many moments of traveling around the world. I never thought I would be able to share my culture, my lifestyle, my family around the world, and have fans in Europe, in Istanbul, in Saudi Arabia, and Iraq. To do Tribute to the Troops."

The former Cruiserweight Champion went on to say that he wants to enjoy his last few years in wrestling and see his son flourish as well:

"Really, there’s not much I can ask for now. You know, I just want to ride into the sunset. I’m making the best out of these last couple of years. And then I just want to watch my son’s career flourish," said Mysterio.
