Vince McMahon oversaw WWE's creative direction for four decades before being replaced by his son-in-law Triple H in 2022. Former WWE star EC3 recently gave his thoughts on McMahon and the behind-the-scenes atmosphere during the 79-year-old's tenure in charge.
EC3 worked for WWE between 2009 and 2013 before returning for another spell with the company between 2018 and 2020. The 41-year-old struggled to receive regular television time under McMahon's leadership and received his release at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, EC3 admitted he regrets not speaking up about his lack of storyline direction:
"Probably on the second run, being miserable, half-concussed, not barging into Vince's office and cutting a promo on him that would either have gotten me fired or pushed. Probably the only real big regret I have, but it's hard to have regrets because if you regret something that happened that was supposed to happen so this could happen, it was part of your journey, so you shouldn't have them." EC3 also mocked Vince McMahon's appearance and referenced the misconduct allegations against his former boss:
"I would have much rather gotten fired after cutting some scathing promo on this degenerate, bad, looney old man, way-past-his-prime, f***ing fake face, Botoxed-brain, f***ing s**t side part, sadistic se*ter." [14:00 – 14:24]

What happened when EC3 tried to talk to Vince McMahon
WWE stars often waited outside Vince McMahon's office for several hours before shows in an attempt to discuss their on-screen presentation.
EC3 found the process "so demeaning" and once left McMahon's office immediately after realizing a meeting was going on:
"I walk in there and [Vince McMahon is] sitting there, and then there's Shane [McMahon] and then there's Triple H and then there's Steph [McMahon], then there's [Paul] Heyman, and then there's [Michael] Hayes and [John] Laurinaitis, and they're all sitting there having a meeting, and they just look at me and I go, 'I'll be back.'" [15:26 – 15:43]
EC3 believes McMahon might have listened to his ideas if they had a one-on-one meeting. However, the former 24/7 Champion did not think he would have gotten his point across while others were in the room.
