Mark Henry on how he discovered Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill
In an interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet back in June, Mark Henry opened up about his role in making stars such as Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. Belair had caught Henry's attention because of her ring gear, as well as her athleticism.
"She got my attention because she wore a tutu. And a big Mickey Mouse bow in her hair. And you’re supposed to work. You're doing apparatus, and you put that down and then you go to something else. She did a da*n backflip on her way to doing another. I'm like, 'What are you doing?' You're exerting the energy that you don't need to. She couldn't help it. She's an entertainer, that's wrestling," Henry said. [H/T - chrisvanvliet.com]
As for Cargill, Henry discovered her when she was still playing basketball and thought that she had the look of a superstar. He sent her to train with Rip Rogers to test her if she really wanted to wrestle and passed with flying colors.
