JD McDonagh has been back as part of The Judgment Day for several months following his punctured lung back in January. However, it seems that WWE has had no idea what to do with him since his return.

Finally, he could be set to have a character on TV, with the company releasing new merch with his "Iron Lung" name. This comes from the injury that he suffered mid-match earlier this year on RAW when he punctured his lung and continued to wrestle.

McDonagh has been seen as one of the toughest stars in the locker room following his injury, and now it has become part of his character.

JD McDonagh has been overlooked amid the animosity in the locker room with Judgment Day, but it seems that this could be the beginning of something for him after weeks of being in the background.

What's next for JD McDonagh?

If The Judgment Day breaks down, then the likelihood is that Finn Balor and JD McDonagh would continue as a tag team, since they are former Tag Team Champions.

That being said, McDonagh could break off alone if Balor gets dragged into a feud with Dominik Mysterio, since he has already proved himself as a singles star.

There are a number of opportunities in WWE at the moment, and especially on RAW. There is also the chance that Judgment Day could be split as part of the rumored upcoming Draft, which could be the way out that McDonagh has been waiting for.

At present, much like Carlito, JD is very aware that he is being paid to turn up and be part of short backstage segments, so it's time for him to prove what he is capable of, and the new name plus a new character could give him the boost that he deserves.
