Kofi Kingston calls out record-breaking WWE champion for not “helping your brother"

Kofi Kingston recently retaliated against a record-breaking WWE champion for his selfish antics. The 38-year-old superstar questioned why he was participating in needless matches that didn’t boost his championship chances. In response, he told Xavier Woods that not everything was about titles.

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have been getting into several disagreements for several weeks on RAW. The latter is solely focused on getting his hands on the World Tag Team Championship and doesn’t want The New Day to get into unnecessary fights.

This week on RAW, he disapproved of Kingston entering a match with Pete Dunne after he threatened R-Truth. Moreover, Woods’ interference resulted in an argument between him and Kingston, which cost him the match. The defeat only intensified the argument between The New Day members.

After the show ended, Lyra Valkyria approached Kofi Kingston and admired him and his team’s great career. The former WWE Champion also appreciated the praise and gave her some advice for her main roster run. Woods interrupted their conversation and asked Kingston how could he so casually give out advice after what just happened.

The record-breaking tag team champion also asked why he was portraying him as the bad guy in front of R-Truth and taking on a match that didn’t help them inch closer to the World Tag Team Championship. Retaliating, Kingston said that not everything was about championships and that sometimes you have to help your allies.

“Everything is not about the tag team championship. It's not about the wins and the losses. Sometimes, it's about doing what's right. And helping your brother and having his back when he needs you. But it seems like you might have forgotten about that, right?” Kofi said. [2:09 onwards]

As Kofi Kingston walked out on Xavier Woods, the latter looked into the camera and asked if he had forgotten about helping a brother. It would be interesting to see what happens next as the tensions between The New Day keep escalating.
