WWE‘s official website on Wednesday announced that Brad Maddox, the suspended referee who had helped CM Punk win, will have to answer to a Board of Inquiry at WWE HQ on Thursday, in response to his actions at Sunday’s Hell In A Cell PPV event.
In case you didn’t know, here’s what happened at Hell in a Cell:
Maddox helped CM Punk retain the WWE Championship by delivering a low blow to Ryback during their title bout, enabling Punk to pin him and Maddox then proceeded to make things worse by performing a very quick 3 count, ensuring CM Punk won. Maddox’s actions angered Ryback, who went on to assault him after the match. Then on the following night on Monday Night Raw, CM Punk denied any affiliation with the rogue referee.
