Logan Paul has exceeded all expectations in the ring. In just his third match, he took Roman Reigns to the limit. Additionally, he captured the United States Championship in his eighth match. Since then, he has held the title for over 200 days although he hasn't been too eager to defend it.
On the other hand, LA Knight has been eager to win his first title since debuting on the main roster. Hence, he has been after Paul to grant him a title match. After weeks of dodging him, The Maverick agreed to a match at SummerSlam which is taking place in his hometown of Cleveland.

Tonight on WWE SmackDown, Paul had a special homecoming celebration. Despite it being his hometown, the fans chanted for LA Knight. Logan got on the mic and said he inspires the city of Cleveland. He even called Knight delusional for thinking he could beat him in his hometown. He then asked to reveal the banner that would hang from the arena. However, when the banner was unveiled, "yeah" was written on it which didn't please the United States Champion.

If ever given a chance to change a storyline, Sunil would have booked Roman Reigns to end The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak instead of Brock Lesnar. According to him, The Tribal Chief needed the victory more than Brock Lesnar, as the latter was already an established performer when he defeated ‘Taker.
