WWE News: Randy Orton set to return to action after taking time off for his child's birth

Orton was instrumental in Team Smackdown’s victory in the 5-on-5 men’s tag match at the Survivor Series

As reported by Wrestling News World, WWE superstar Randy Orton will be seen in action on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live after having taken the week off for his daughter’s birth.

Orton was part of the victorious SmackDown team in their 5-on-5 tag match against Team Raw at the Survivor Series. Once the event was over, ‘The Viper’ returned home to be by his wife’s side for her delivery.

Although he was seen standing alongside Bray Wyatt while the latter challenged American Alpha for a match during last week’s SmackDown, it was actually a pre-recorded segment which had been taped on the night of the Survivor Series.

Below is a video of the tag team turmoil match after which Wyatt issued his challenge:

‘The Apex Predator’ was also not around for this weekend’s WWE live events. However, he will be very much present on this Tuesday’s edition of SmackDown and will team up with Wyatt to take on American Alpha in a battle to decide the No. 1 contenders for the blue brand’s Tag Team championship.

If the New Wyatt Family is able to pick up a victory in the match, they will perhaps be facing current champions, Heath Slater and Rhyno, for the title at the TLC pay-per-view. Both Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton have not had any title reigns in a long time now and this may be a great opportunity for them to get championship gold around their waists.

Meanwhile, Orton has quite naturally been on cloud nine about the birth of his first child with wife Kim Marie Kessler and has shared his excitement with fans on Twitter. Just around a day before his daughter Brooklyn Rose was born, he had tweeted, “About 30 hours from now I'll have a brand new baby girl. I'm blessed.”

Four days later on Thanksgiving Day, he posted a picture of his newborn on his Twitter page and wrote that he was thankful for her.
