Shane McMahon and Vince McMahon were once a core part of WWE and often appeared on the weekly product. However, times have changed, and neither is in the Stamford-based promotion. Recently, the former Hardcore Champion addressed whether he plans on starting a new wrestling company with his dad.
Last year, it was reported that Shane McMahon's second run with the Stamford-based promotion ended in June. The second-generation star was often featured as an attraction on the shows, but his appearances reduced once Vince McMahon was out of the company.
Recently, there were rumors that the McMahons were starting their own wrestling promotion, and the 55-year-old star was asked about it. In an interview on TMZ Sports, Shane McMahon revealed that anything can happen in WWE, but the father-son duo is not starting their promotion, as those rumors are false.
"You never know what's going to happen out there. Of course, anything can happen in WWE, but those rumors are false. Those rumors are false," McMahon said. (From 00:07 to 00:14)
Shane McMahon's last match was when Vince McMahon was a part of WWE
In 2023, Vince McMahon made his way back into the Stamford-based promotion, as Mr.McMahon wanted to enable the sale of the company to Endeavor. While the sale happened in the coming months, McMahon once again got control over the promotion, and it became visible around WrestleMania 39.
Meanwhile, Shane McMahon appeared at The Grandest Stage of Them All for a one-on-one match against The Miz. Unfortunately, Shane got injured during the match, and Snoop Dogg had to step in to finish the match against The A-Lister at The Showcase of The Immortals in California.
It ended abruptly for Shane as he didn't compete inside the ring after the injury. It'll be interesting to see if the McMahons end up working in the wrestling industry in the near future.
