El Grande Americano became a popular name on Monday Night RAW in no time. However, a fellow WWE Superstar recently fired brutal shots at the masked man.
On the most recent edition of WWE Speed, Legado del Fantasma's Berto defeated NXT star Noam Dar to book a championship match against Americano. The latter has yet to defend the title he won last month from Dragon Lee.
After the bout, Berto cut a promo to put El Grande Americano on notice. He mocked the WWE Speed Champion for his name and called him a disgrace to the luchador culture. The SmackDown star claimed he would establish his superiority over the masked man when they battle it out for the title next week.
"Hey! There you are. What did I tell you last week? Now I've found my pace, and I'm going to win every single speed match they send my way. Next week, I'm going to be facing the self-proclaimed Greatest Luchador of all time, Chad [pauses and smiles] I'm sorry, El Grande Americano. It's very hard to take someone seriously when they sound like my Starbucks order. Come here. Are you listening, Grande? You are a disgrace for the lucha culture. And next week, it'll only gonna take me five minutes to prove that you're nothing," he said.

El Grande Americano recently competed in another high-stakes match
El Grande Americano made it to the WrestleMania 41 card within his first month in WWE. He was expected to clash with WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
However, The Master of the 619 sustained an injury ahead of the show and was replaced by Rey Fenix. Americano put forth an impressive performance and defeated the former AEW International Champion to keep his 100% winning rate.
El Grande further shocked everyone on the June 2 edition of Monday Night RAW by winning the Money in the Bank Qualifying Triple Threat Match against former World Champions AJ Styles and CM Punk. He impressed the fans one more time with his performance in the MITB ladder match. However, it was Seth Rollins who retrieved the briefcase for the second time in his career.
While many fans and critics speculate that Chad Gable is the man behind El Grande's mask, the wrestling promotion has yet to disclose his real identity. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the WWE Speed Champion.
