Former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Gigi Dolin (Priscilla Kelly) was released by WWE on May 2, earlier this year. She competed in her first match after leaving the Stamford-based promotion at a Pro Wrestling REVOLVER event, against Zachary Wentz, also her fiancé, at Cage of Horrors in an intergender match.
However, the night didn’t end well for former Toxic Attraction member as she appeared to suffer a legitimate injury. The match between Zachary Wentz and Gigi Dolin was allegedly cut short following the injury scare. Addressing the situation, Priscilla Kelly posted a statement on her official X/Twitter account, revealing that she had dislocated her patella during the bout.
She revealed that it was not an “injury,” but a recurring problem, and had to be put back into place. She concluded by apologizing to her fans and promising that she would make it up to them.
“My patella came out of place. It does that from time to time. It’s an anatomy issue I’ve had my whole life, and I’ve managed to always work through it, even sometimes continuing matches after it happens. It’s not an “injury”, it just hurts a good bit and I have to “pop” it back in place. Now ya know. Sorry, guys,” Kelly wrote.
Gigi Dolin speaks out about her WWE release
Following her release from WWE, Gigi Dolin posted a video on her official Instagram page, addressing her departure from the global juggernaut and her future.
"I had been through so much in my childhood and in my adult life that I thought surely nothing, and I mean nothing, could break me. But it did. I found myself picking up pieces of my dream, not knowing what glue would be strong enough to put it back together. Well, it turns out that glue was a torn and flipped meniscus on a Friday morning." It remains to be seen how things turn out for Priscilla Kelly on the indies, now that she is actively competing outside WWE.
