Vince McMahon made WWE a global phenomenon

Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently spoke about Vince McMahon returning to the wrestling business.

Earlier this year, Mr. McMahon resigned from TKO after a former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against him. The lawsuit accused the 78-year-old of sexual misconduct and harassment. This issue caused ripples in the wrestling business and led to the company withdrawing any mention of the former boss on TV. In the few months following his departure, McMahon has been liquidating his TKO stocks worth billions of dollars.

In a recent clip from Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the veteran felt that it was unlikely for Vince McMahon to start a new wrestling promotion. On the contrary, he detailed that Vince could buy a promotion that's already set up. He mentioned that he would be intrigued to see McMahon and Tony Khan working together in some capacity.

"Do I think he'll start it? Hell no. And the reason I mentioned. He's too old to start something. He just wants to be the boss. He wouldn't have to start one, he could just take one over that already got the background laid down. Hell, he could go into business with Tony Khan. Now that would be news. That would be news that we could sit and we could talk about. Tony Khan and Vince McMahon going into business together." [From 5:39 - 6:21]

Mantell spoke about Vince McMahon's contributions to wrestling

During the same conversation, Dutch Mantell rubbished any claims that Vince McMahon ruined wrestling. He detailed that the former boss had done a great job and made WWE a global phenomenon.

"Hell no, he didn't ruin wrestling. It's doing the best now than it's ever done. Who said he ruined wrestling?" Mantell continued, "He didn't ruin it, no. Because you can't ruin wrestling. You can't kill it either," Mantell said.

While Vince's legacy has been marred by recent lawsuits, he will still down down in history as the most successful wrestling promoter of all time.

It will be interesting to see if the former CEO returns to the wrestling business in the future.
