Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently shared his thoughts on how the company has handled The Wyatt Sicks. The faction returned to the blue brand on the May 23 edition.
Ever since their return, the Wyatts have destroyed the tag team division on SmackDown. The group, led by Uncle Howdy, unleashed a vicious attack on major tandems including the Street Profits, Fraxiom, Motor City Machine Guns, and #DIY.
This week on BroDown with host Mac Davis, Mantell noted that The Wyatt Sicks suffered from a start-stop booking. He explained that the creative team would use them for a few weeks and then not book them for months. The wrestling veteran felt WWE blundered with the booking, and now it was impossible to get the Gothic faction over for the long term.
"That's another team they got that they've done something with them, then they disappear for a month, two months, three months. Then they come back and they do something else with them, then they disappear. So, to get them over long term, they have failed at their job, the creative team. Anything that you do with the Wyatt Sicks you do right now is an exercise in futility." [From 11:20 onwards]
Uncle Howdy appeared in a video package this week, discussing the motives and actions of the Wyatts. He mentioned that the time of condemnation was near and every tag team would face their wrath.
