WWE Chief Content Officer, Triple H has made a massive announcement ahead of the upcoming edition of Friday Night SmackDown. He announced the launch of a new Championship from next month.
Earlier this year, in February, the Stamford-based company announced WWE Speed, a weekly show exclusively for X (fka Twitter). The show premiered on April 3 with an eight-man tournament to determine the inaugural Speed Champion. Former WWE Superstar, Ricochet defeated Johnny Gargano in the final to win the title before losing it to Andrade ahead of his exit from the company.
WWE head of creative, Triple H recently took to X to announce a similar tournament for the wrestling promotion's women's division. The Game stated that the tournament would premiere on September 4 exclusively on the social media platform.
"Time to turn #WWESpeed up another notch… excited to announce that the WWE Speed Women’s Championship Tournament will premiere Sept. 4 at 12pm ET / 9am PT, exclusively on @X," he wrote.
