WWE Superstar R-Truth shocked the wrestling world earlier this month when he announced that he would be leaving WWE. The two-time US Champion revealed on social media that he would leave the company following the expiration of his contract, much to the dismay of the WWE universe.
Fans would flood the subsequent shows with 'We want Truth' chants and signs. WWE eventually heard its fans, and R-Truth returned at Money in the Bank as Ron Killings, costing John Cena in his tag match against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. Ever since Killings' return, however, the fans have been questioning whether he was actually let go or if it was a work.
Addressing the situation during the latest WrestleVotes Q&A on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, WrestleVotes said that the return wasn't a work and that Ron Killings was actually let go before being rehired. Even though he believes that, he clarified that it's unlikely everyone will ever get to know what truly happened behind the scenes.
"I'm under the belief that it was totally legitimate. Don't think they would've gone the lengths that they did. It involved other people, maybe not directly, but Carlito and Sarah Logan also let go. I think that's probably a little beneath the company to involve a storyline into real life stuff like that. His son was very adamant on Instagram after the press conference. Cathy Kelly deserves an Emmy if she was acting at the press conference," he said. [4:30 onwards]
He continued,
"So, I would say it's all legitimate. I know employees that I've talked to believe he was legitimately let go and they listened and they came to terms, but I don't know if we'll ever 100% know what happened," he said. [5:00 onwards]
R-Truth returned to the WWE as Ron Killings, and there seems to be a vast difference between the two characters. Killings chopped off his trademark deadlocks shortly after making his return, live on the latest episode of Monday Night RAW.
