Jade Cargill was the victim of a backstage assault on the November 22 episode of WWE SmackDown. The one-half of the Women's Tag Team Champions was seen lying motionless on the destroyed windshield of a car. The sight prompted Bianca Belair to abandon a major match also featuring Blair Davenport and Chelsea Green.
WWE confirmed multiple injuries to Jade Cargill in the aftermath of the mystery attack. The company also revealed a popular superstar as Jade's replacement in the Women's WarGames match at Survivor Series: WarGames, causing fans to speculate about the return timeline for the WWE champion.
However, a new report suggests Jade would be out of action for a long time. Speaking on the Live Q&A with Bill Apter on Backstage Pass, WrestleVotes provided a new update on Jade Cargill's status. While the WWE insider did not comment on the specifics of the injury, he said he expected the superstar to be out of action for a long time:
"I've done some digging, and it's just like it's reported elsewhere. Everything's being kept very quiet. I do know that I won't expect her (to return) anytime soon. And anytime soon being a very long time." [02:15 onwards]
A top AEW star has fired back at his critics HERE.
Jade Cargill's removal from television just days before one of WWE's biggest premium live events has caught fans by surprise. Due to the timing, many are unsure if the injury angle is a work or otherwise. The 32-year-old star was scheduled to compete in the Women's United States Championship Tournament, but that no longer seems to be the case.
The fate of the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship also hangs in the balance. It'll be interesting to see how Triple H books the title program in the lead-up to Survivor Series: WarGames.
