Last week, the lawyers announced that Mr. Laurinaitis had reached a confidential agreement with Ms. Grant. As part of this arrangement, the former WWE Head of Talent Relations would provide evidence against Vince McMahon in the ongoing lawsuit.

This week on The Wrestling Time Machine, Teddy explained that Laurinaitis turning on his former boss might just help McMahon. The veteran manager felt that this development would possibly bring to light some of his actions, which could, in turn, protect McMahon. However, Long was baffled by John turning on Vince McMahon midway through the lawsuit.

"I don't think it's gonna be bad for Vince. And the reason why is because I think what is happening now is this will maybe help Vince. Now we'll find out what Laurinaitis has really been doing. There's a lot of other things that I don't think we really know yet that has come out on him. Like I said, for him to do something like that is unbelievable." [From 2:27 onwards]

Mr. McMahon's lawyer, Jessica Rosenberg, made it clear that this recent turn of events does not change the facts of the case. She insisted that McMahon did not mistreat Janel Grant during her time with WWE.
